Netherlands-based Scholtus Special Products acquires dog treat maker

Proline Petfood business unit to operate from Scholtus' production facilities starting January 2012

      Release Date: Comments(0)

European semi-moist cat and dog treat maker Scholtus Special Products B.V. acquired GH Prins & Zonen B.V. from its Proline Petfood business unit, a dog treat maker.

Beginning in January 2012, Proline will operate from Scholtus' production facilities in Renswoude, the Netherlands.

"We have been impressed over the last few years by the dedication of the Proline team to offer the best range of natural snacks in the industry to their customers. We are thrilled to work together with them from now on. By integrating the Proline operations in our Renswoude facility, all our customers will benefit," says Eddy Nijhof, managing director of Scholtus.

Effective immediately, Martien van Boheman, managing director of GH Prins, joins Scholtus executive team as the marketing and sales director of the combined company.

"Although Proline Petfood has experienced tremendous growth in its entire history, we believe that Proline's best days are ahead of it. We are impressed by all the new packaging options we will be able to offer after our relocation to the Scholtus' state-of-the-art facility in Renswoude. We are excited about the opportunity to introduce via  Scholtus our products to leading retailers all over Europe," says van Boheman.
