The EZx 465 Touchless X-ray system from Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc. locates foreign objects found in petfood production environments. The system eliminates the need for shielding curtains by conveying product through the inspection chamber via a series of small slopes and features an aperture with reduced height to ensure no X-ray scatter escapes from the inlet or outlet areas, according to the manufacturer. The system is available with a 400 mm-wide belt, with maximum belt speed of 328 feet per minute, and is capable of handling products 65 mm in height.
