UK-based petfood manufacturer Wagg Foods announced it increased production by 50%, following a £6m (US$9.83 million) in its factory.

Wagg Foods recently invested £4m (US$6.55 million) on a third petfood extruder machine and £2m (US$3.28) on a factory extension to house the new equipment. The extra space will also be used to house an additional 700 metric tons of raw material storage space and 16 more storage bins. The extended factory allows the company to produce between 20 and 26 metric tons of dry dog food, dog treats and food for small animals every hour.

“Our recent period of growth has meant that it has been necessary to make these exciting additions to our production facility," said Ben Anderson, trade sales director. “Wagg’s capacity has now increased from 100,000 to approximately 150,000 tonnes per year which will help us to meet our customer’s deadlines even more quickly and efficiently.
