  • Archer Daniels Midland has added four executive team members to ADM Animal Nutrition. Dr. Ryan Lane joins ADM as vice president, Animal Nutrition Research. Dr. Alejandro Buentello has been named director, Animal Nutrition Research. Dr. Gary M. Davenport brings more than 32 years of industry experience to his role as companion animal technical manager for ADM Animal Nutrition. Dr. Kristjan Bregendahl joins ADM Animal Nutrition as poultry technical manager.
  • Himalayan Corp., makers of Himalayan Dog Chew, completed an agreement with Distinctive Dog to manufacture and represent their grain free dog treats. Distinctive Dog is transferring production of the treat line, and will work actively with suppliers, distributors and customers to continue providing high-quality treats to dog owners.
  • Glenroy Inc., a converter and printer of flexible packaging for more than 50 years, has been recognized by the Flexible Packaging Association with a Silver Flexible Packaging Achievement Award.
  • APLIX Inc. has earned certification for compliance with the British Retail Consortium (BRC), under the prominent Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) benchmarked for food safety standards. APLIX Inc. met all of the BRC Global Standard requirements for Food Safety within the Packaging scope, receiving an “A” rating.
  • Coperion GmbH, a subsidiary of Hillenbrand Inc., has realigned and relocated its North American operations from Ramsey, New Jersey, USA to their other facilities located in Pitman, New Jersey; Wytheville, Virginia; and Houston, Texas, USA.

  • Bulk material handling and powder processing leader, Spiroflow, has appointed industry veteran Kevin Bowen as a member of its Strategic Advisory Board. The role of the Advisory Board is to provide guidance on market growth, product strategy and innovation.
  • The U.S. Food and Drug Administration will hold a public meeting titled, “FDA Food Safety Modernization Act: Prevention-oriented Import System Regulations and Implementation,” on March 21, in College Park, Maryland, USA. The public meeting will provide stakeholders an opportunity to discuss import safety regulations and programs, including final rules for foreign supplier verification programs (FSVPs) for importers of food for humans and animals and accreditation of third-party certification bodies. Participants will also be briefed on the status of FDA’s Voluntary Qualified Importer Program (VQIP), which is still in development by FDA.
  • As of March 4, AIB International’s Leatherhead, UK, office has relocated to modern office spaces near the Leatherhead Town Centre. The Leatherhead office which oversees the AIB International’s operations for Europe, Middle East, and Africa (EMEA), is now located at Riverbridge House, Fetchum Grove, Guildford Road, Leatherhead, KT22 9AD.
  • Tipper Tie has named Jörg Nold as sales director Germany and after market sales effective March 1, 2016.
  • Almo Nature, the manufacturer of dog and cat food, is moving its entire marketing department to Amsterdam, effective March 2016. The move from Switzerland to the Netherlands has prompted the departure of Salima Touchal, marketing manager for international trade marketing, from the company.
  • The Company of Animals has promoted Larry Cobb to CEO of the firm’s US subsidiary.
  • Sandvik Mining and Schenck Process have signed a global partnership agreement. The partnership provides increased crushing circuit productivity for Schenck Process double and single deck high capacity banana screens and Sandvik high productivity cone crushers. It also enables a single service provider approach to support customers throughout the entire plant life cycle.
  • Bemis Company Inc. has been honored by the Flexible Packaging Association (FPA) with two 2016 Flexible Packaging Achievement Awards, receiving the highest achievement, Best in Show, for the Campbell’s Ready Meals pouch, and a silver award in the Technical Innovation category for the Smithfield foodservice package utilizing Curwood Flow-Tite shrink rollstock film.

  • Steve Malone has been named the new director of marketing for Kemin Industries’ pet food division, leading global marketing efforts for the company’s antioxidant, antimicrobial and palatant business.
  • Nature’s Variety has named Matt West its new chief financial officer. He joins Nature’s Variety after serving as vice president and global treasurer for Kraft Foods Group.
  • Starting in 2018 Interzoo, the international trade fair for pet supplies which is always held in May, will feature a new Tuesday through Friday schedule.
  • Ten British pet product suppliers will be exhibiting in the PetQuip-organized group at Global Pet Expo in Orlando, Florida, USA, March 16-18, 2016.
  • BioResource International Inc., a global biotechnology company specializing in the research, development and manufacture of high-performance enzyme feed additives for optimizing animal nutrition and gut health, has signed an agreement with Connell Bros. Co. L.L.C., a Wilbur-Ellis company, for the distribution and marketing of selected feed enzyme products in Thailand, Vietnam, Indonesia and Myanmar.

  • AIB International has named Stephanie Lopez as vice president, food safety services, Americas, with Jeff Wilson taking on the role of vice president, Europe, Asia and Africa (EAA).
