Spring Naturals petfood brand launches community program

'Spring Into Action' Facebook contest highlights everyday heros who help animals in need.

In honor of the arrival of spring, the newly launched Spring Naturals petfood line recently unveiled its community relations portion of its business, called “Spring Into Action.”

In May, Spring Naturals will be looking for everyday heroes that “spring into action” to help animals in need. Each month an everyday hero will be chosen and the animal rescue group they support will be highlighted on the Spring Naturals Facebook page. To nominate an everyday hero, submit a photo and 50-100 words on how the nominee is a positive example in the animal community to the Facebook page or via email to springintoaction@springnaturals.com.

Each winner will receive a 26-pound bag of Spring Naturals dog food along with a 6-ounce treat pouch. In June 2013, a grand-prize winner will be selected and their favorite animal rescue organization or shelter will receive US$2,000 in Spring Naturals dog food plus a US$500 cash donation.

Spring Naturals also teamed up with Project Rescue Chicago to name one of the adoptable rescue dogs, Spring, a 1 1/2-year-old mixed breed female. Spring was recently adopted by a family in Chicago, Illinois, USA, who will receive a year of food and treats for the dog from Spring Naturals.

“At Spring Naturals, we value the pets in our lives and wanted to find a way to give the spotlight to everyday heroes working day in and day out to save the lives of pets in need,” said Rob Cadenhead, vice president of sales and marketing. “With the idea of supporting those on the frontlines of animal welfare, ‘Spring Into Action’ was born!”
