AIB International updates Consolidated Standards for Inspection

AIB International has completed an update of four of its 11 Consolidated Standards for Inspection. AIB says the update was needed as a result of regulatory developments, including the US Food and Drug Administration Food Safety Modernization Act, and other industry best practices impacting the food and petfood industry.

AIB International has completed an update of four of its 11 Consolidated Standards for Inspection.

AIB says the update was needed as a result of regulatory developments, including the US Food and Drug Administration Food Safety Modernization Act, and other industry best practices impacting the food and petfood industry.

The new requirements of the first four standards will take effect January 1, 2013. Changes to the other standards will be completed in a rollout during the course of 2013.

Updated standards include:

  • Prerequisite and Food Safety Programs Standard and the Change and Guidance Document for the Prerequisite and Food Safety Programs
  • Beverage Facilities Standard and the Change and Guidance Document for Beverage Facilities
  • Food Distribution Centers Standard and the Change and Guidance Document for Food Distribution Centers
  • Food Contact Packaging Manufacturing Facilities Standard and the Change and Guidance Document for Food Contact Packaging Manufacturing Facilities
