Bailey's Choice expands number of states affected by dog treat recall

Teriyaki chicken dog treats sold in North Carolina,South Carolina, Virginia, Delaware and Tennessee, USA, being recalled

Bailey's Choice Dog Treats LLC of Waleska, Georgia, USA, has once again expanded its recall of dog treats to include the states of Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia, Delaware and Tennessee, USA. This expanded recall due to the potential for Salmonella contamination applies to the Teriyaki Chicken Treats products.

The company's initial recall involved several varieties of its chicken dog treats sold in Georgia and was initiated after routine testing by the Georgia Department of Agriculture found Salmonella in the products.

In a statement, company spokesman, Roger Thomas, said Bailey's Choice is working with the state Department of Agriculture and the Food and Drug Administration to remove all the recalled pet treats from stores. Thomas says the company has repaired a digital thermostat, which caused a dehydrator used to maintain proper temperatures to malfunction.
