Ÿnsect joins Global Innovators Community

Ÿnsect joins the World Economic Forum’s Global Innovators Community.

Ÿnsect, world leader in natural insect protein and fertilizer production, announces that it has joined the World Economic Forum’s Global Innovators Community as the first French agtech startup.

The World Economic Forum engages the foremost political, business, cultural and other leaders of society to shape global, regional and industry agendas. Its invitation-only group, The Global Innovators Community, is made up of the world’s most promising start-ups and scale-ups, providing them with a platform to engage with public and private-sector leaders and to contribute new solutions to overcome current crises and build future resiliency.

Following some key milestones including the extension of its Series C to $372 million to improve global food security and sustainability in October last year, followed by the EFSA’s recent positive assessment of the safety of Ynsect’s mealworm product as being safe for human consumption, this prestigious invitation from the WEF further strengthens Ÿnsect’s commitment to building a more sustainable future.

Ÿnsect’s goal is to pave the way and help the industry grow to meet the crucial challenges of tomorrow: feeding the planet, preserving the environment and its biodiversity, improving overall ecosystems and human health, and fighting against climate change.

‘With climate change and increasing populations worldwide, we need to produce more food with less available land and fewer resources’, says Antoine Hubert, Ÿnsect’s co-founder, President and CEO.’ We are thrilled to join the Global Innovators community as the first French agtech startup and to work with other leading start-ups and scale-ups to improve the state of the world.’

Ÿnsect’s current focus is the completion of their next vertical farm in the city of Amiens. Due to open late 2021, this will be the first carbon negative and largest vertical farm in the world.

Antoine Hubert will be participating in The Davos Agenda, taking place from 25-29 January 2021, joining other key stakeholders for a cohesive and sustainable world.
