      • Wholistic Pet Organics, makers of holistic supplements for dogs, cats and horses, received the National Animal Supplement Council seal.
      • Tate & Lyle's Animal Nutrition and Co-Products team and its partners, Eaststarch/Amylum, made the following organizational changes: Ard van Houte, vice president of sales, Animal Nutrition, now serves as general manager food systems Europe, replaced by Anthony Sepich, assistant general manager for Eaststarch/Amylum group, and Jan Sykora was named lead on European Cornpro sales.
      • MOCON Inc. created four global business units with different headquarters to better support its international footprint: Permeation (Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA), Package Testing (Ringsted, Denmark), Industrial Analyzers (Lyons, Colorado, USA) and Microbial Detection (Minneapolis).
      • Jackie Roembke has been named editor WATT’s feed brands, which include Feed Management and Feed International magazines, Feed eNews and the Feed sections of WATTAgNet.com. She joined the company on Monday, May 13.
      • The Honest Kitchen added two new members to its corporate team: Brad Bushong, vice president of sales, and Jerry Scheffers, director of production.
      • Superior Farms Pet Provisions brand named Eric Tiller as vice president of sales for the new company.
      • The European Food Safety Authority adopted a positive scientific opinion on the safety and efficacy of Biomin BBSH 797, a microorganism capable of biotransforming trichothecenes into harmless metabolites.
      • The Honest Kitchen won the Nexty Award for 2014, identifying it as a thought leader and innovator in the industry, and "what’s next" in the industry.
      • Barry-Wehmiller Group appointed Jeffrey D. Giles to the firm's newly created director of corporate development position.
      • Exclusively Pet Inc. formed a new manufacturer’s representation agreement with Chuck Latham Associates LLC, providing service and product support in the US Southeast, Rocky Mountain and West Coast territories.
      • Dr. Marc-Olivier Demaurex, president at Bosch Packaging Technology SA in Romanel, Switzerland, is to retire at the end of April, while Frank Souyris has been appointed general manager for the robotics unit.
      • Tyson's Pet Products division is weighing the decision to expand its Iowa, USA, plant that produces chicken jerky dog treats, which could add 130 new jobs at the plant.
      • The American Feed Industry Association’s Equipment Manufacturers Committee recently donated US$2,500 to Kansas State University’s Department of Grain Science and Industry undergraduate scholarship fund.
      • John MacDonald retired in March as group manager of the Organic Laboratory at Nestle Purina PetCare of Nestle Purina Analytical Laboratories after a 39-year career.
      • Charles Stark joined Kansas State University as a new faculty member in the College of Agriculture's Department of Grain Science and Industry and Department of Animal Sciences and Industry.
      • Global animal health and nutrition company Alltech appointed Eric Hibbard as the new sales manager for Alltech New Mexico.
      • Cherie Grandt joined Vets Plus Inc. as director of marketing
      • Nestle, the parent company of Nestle Purina PetCare, is launching the Deforestation Guides for Commodity Sourcing, which use data from satellites to "track" and illustrate areas at greatest risk of deforestation, in an effort to help reduce that risk.
      • Automated Process Equipment Corp. was recognized as one of the 2013 “Michigan 50 Companies to Watch,” an awards program sponsored by the Edward Lowe Foundation and presented by Michigan Celebrates Small Business.
      • Fenchem Inc. reported a sales increase of 78 percent over the the previous year and sales volume of nearly US$5 million in the first quarter of fiscal 2013.
      • The American Feed Industry Association welcomed two new staff members in 2013: Katharine Gausmann as membership and meetings coordinator, and Paul Keppy as legislative and regulatory specialist.
      • LifeVantage Corp. earned the Quality Seal for its Canine Health product from the National Animal Supplement Council.
      • Gefran Inc. named Matt Overhulse as Great Lakes regional sales manager, industrial sensor and automation products, for North America.
      • Stratum Nutrition, a Novus International Business focusing on nutrition through functional and specialty ingredients, announced that Novus received the 2012 North American Frost & Sullivan New Product Innovation Award in prebiotics for Previda.
      • Animal Lovers, a maker of baked pet treats, announced it has achieved double-digit growth thanks to a large number of new national and international clients, as well as investments in packaging machinery and personnel.
      • Mocon Inc. and Inspection Systems of Melbourne, Australia, have partnered to establish IS Laboratories, a certified lab for permeation, seal strength and leak detection testing for food and pharmaceutical packaging structures.
