Ohio Pet Foods managing former Chenango Valley Pet Foods facility

The 80-year-old contract manufacturer has reopened as Southern Tier Pet Nutrition

Ohio Pet Foods Inc. has begun managing the former Chenango Valley Pet Foods facility and has reopened it under a new name, Southern Tier Pet Nutrition (STPN), according to Matt Golladay, VP of Ohio Pet Foods.

Chenango Valley, located in Sherburne, New York, USA, recently closed after 80 years in business making premium natural and organic petfoods for a variety of clients. Ohio Pet Foods, which produces its own Blackwood Pet Food brand along with private label petfoods, has partnered with BHC Interim Funding III LP, which recently acquired the assets of Chenango Valley Pet Foods Inc., Golladay said.

Golladay added that production has restarted as STPN, and several production changes and upgrades will be complete soon. The facility currently offers custom formulation co-packing services with wet meat inclusion to new and existing customers.
