Samantha Hartwig BScH

Samantha Hartwig first became interested in nutrition when she started working in a companion animal hospital in 2016. She was astounded by the number of different ways nutrition could affect the health of animals as well as aid in the treatment of some diseases. While completing her B.Sc degree in Animal Biology at the University of Guelph, she expanded her knowledge of nutrition by taking various elective courses focusing on species-specific nutrition. Hartwig began her M.Sc. at the University of Guelph studying companion animal nutrition in September 2022 under the supervision of Dr. Anna Kate Shoveller. She hopes to explore the importance of and gain a better understanding of nutritional supplementation to optimize animal nutrition.
