Mullinix Packages offers the OxyRx PET/scavenger container as an alternative to the PP/EVOH container for shelf-stable food packaging. According to the company, the PET/scavenger container is better than both metal cans and glass bottles at preventing oxidation of foods and beverages. It's a single-material container that can be recycled in the same manner as other types of PET containers. It promises zero oxygen permeation for four years, high heat resistance, glass-like clarity, headspace oxygen reduction and no delamination.
