Nippon Pet Food is a privately owned, Tokyo-based pet food maker, currently concentrating on the Japanese, Asian and Southeast Asian markets. Nippon's original product for fish remains a staple of the business, even as the company has branched into food products for dogs, cats, birds and small animals.
Milestones
2014: Nippon is removed from the TOPIX index in Japan. 2013: Estimated total feed revenue exceeds US$563 million, with 233 people employed across all company divisions. 2012-2015: Nippon is sold by its majority owner, Kyodo Shiryo, prior to the parent company's merger with Nippai, to form Feed One. Nippon is now independent and owned by a small, private company.
