Dr. Kathy Gross recently retired after more than 30 years at Hill's Pet Nutrition, Inc. She is currently Adjunct Faculty in the Department of Animal Sciences & Industry at Kansas State University’s College of Agriculture. Dr. Gross also consults on companion animal and livestock nutrition and health topics as a Principal Consultant for Tanner Veterinary Services, LLC. Prior to retirement at Hill's Pet Nutrition, She held the title of Worldwide Director in R&D with responsibility for the nutritional design, clinical studies, and claims for Hill’s companion animal products globally. She has published more than 100 papers, abstracts, and book chapters as well as being an inventor on 19 granted patents in her career. She has conducted research on a wide variety of canine and feline nutrition and health topics including probiotics, prebiotics, and digestive function. Kathy completed a Ph.D. in Animal Nutrition from Kansas State University, received an MS in Animal Nutrition from Virginia Tech, and a Bachelor's in Animal Bioscience from Penn State University. Kathy and her husband reside on a ranch in NE Kansas and raise Red Angus cattle, have 2 daughters and a son, a dog, several horses, and a kitten.
