Holistic Select recently donated 3,500 pounds of dog and cat food to Bideawee, an animal welfare and pet adoption organization, as part of its “Worth Our Weight” petfood drive. The event was held in conjunction with the grand opening of a new Petco superstore at Columbus Square in Manhattan, New York, USA.

German petfood market grows slowly in 2010

Germany's market for petfood grew slightly in 2010 compared to 2009, rising 0.8% to € 2.777 billion (US$3.93 billion). The strongest growth in 2010 was in the market for cat food, which increased 2.9% to € 1.435 billion (US$2.03 billion).

National Animal Supplement Council honors Arenus with Visibility Award

Zoomark 2011 focuses on purchasing trends, new petfood products

Zoomark International 2011 will focus on purchasing trends and the latest innovations in petfood and pet care products from May 12-15 in Italy. Zoomark released a report in conjunction with the show's opening, which found that the Italian market for petfood grew by 2.2% in 2010, reaching 1.53 billion Euro (US$2.14 billion).

Holistic petfood maker Infinia recently introduced its Holistic Dog Food line, with colorful packaging to convey the food's quality to consumers, according to the packaging designer. The dog food line is available in recipes such as Turkey & Sweet Potato, Chicken & Brown Rice, and Bison & Potato.

UK petfood company secures funding for expansion

UK-based petfood company MPM Products recently secured funding of £3m (US$4.9 million) to help the company expand its business. The company reported that its revenues have grown from £4m (US$6.5 million) to £10m (US$16.3 million) in under two years and MPM said it aims to increase the figure up to £50m (US$81.4 million) by 2014.

Holistic petfood company hosts bike raffle for pet cancer research

Canidae Pet Foods will host a charity raffle to win a pair of Felt Beach Cruiser bikes, with all proceeds benefitting the American Kennel Club Canine Health Foundation to help in the fight against pet cancer. The raffle will take place during the 2011 Amgen Tour of California, offering the chance to purchase raffle tickets near the finish line at each stage of the race.

Canidae will raffle off two bikes for pet cancer research at the Amgen Tour of California.

Petco and the Blue Buffalo Co. will team up to help pets find homes by hosting National Adoption Weekend, May 14-15. National Adoption Weekend, sponsored by Blue Buffalo, will include pet adoption events at Petco stores nationwide.
