PCE Instruments recently introduced the new PCE-A-315 for the quick and reliable inline moisture measurement of grain, e.g. during the steaming process or before milling the grain. The company can install the sensor on-site and offers calibration and maintenance services throughout the United States, Canada, South America and Western Europe.
Normally, during grain-drying processes, a lot of energy is consumed. But with this sensor, the drying process can be controlled and thus costs can be saved. The results are highly reproducible and do not depend on the density of the material. The measurement range is 5 to 45%.
The sensor can measure materials like grain, wheat, buckwheat, barley, oats, hops, sunflower seeds, poppy seeds, pumpkin seeds, peas, horse beans, rape, soybeans, salt, sugar, coffee, cocoa beans, unpeeled rice and peeled brown rice, to name but a few. One considerable advantage is that the material is not damaged or deformed and does not overheat.
