Pet Webinar Series 400x200Pet owners increasingly expect the same standards of precision health for their pets that they have come to expect for themselves: clinically validated ingredients supported by targeted outcomes, rather than Blis Sponsor Logo 200pxgeneric “digestive support” or “fresh breath” claims. This shift is bringing human clinical science directly into pet food formulation, and nowhere is the opportunity clearer than in the microbiome. Strains studied for specific outcomes in humans are now being evaluated for their potential to deliver targeted benefits for cats and dogs. During this webinar, industry experts Dr. John Hale, Ph.D., chief technology officer at BLIS Technologies; Bryan Gray, senior marketing manager at Probi; and Brandy Webb, N.D. (TBC), scientific affairs manager at Probi, will explore how human microbiome research is helping shape the next generation of pet health solutions. They will discuss the scale of the oral health opportunity in pets, the clinical science behind BLIS Technologies’ oral microbiome approach and Probi’s LP6595 gut health research, and how translatable human clinical data is becoming an important trust signal for pet brands as consumer expectations continue to rise.

This webinar will broadcast at 2:00 PM CDT (Chicago) / 8:00 PM BST (London) / 3:00 AM CST, Sept. 3 (Beijing).

  4. Learn how brands and formulators can translate clinical science into product concepts that meet growing market demand for precise, targeted pet health solutions.

This webinar is sponsored by BLIS Technologies and presented by Petfood Industry.

John's career has been driven by a fascination with bacteria — how they cause disease, and how they might also be harnessed to prevent it. This led him to graduate studies at the University of Otago's Department of Microbiology and Immunology, characterizing bacteriocins (antimicrobial molecules produced by bacteria to outcompete rivals). He went on to postdoctoral research with Professor Bob Hancock at the University of British Columbia, studying bacteriocin mode of action, followed by a Research Fellow role at Monash University's School of Pharmacy investigating how pathogens resist them. John joined BLIS Technologies in 2011. As CTO, he leads the Scientific Services Team and oversees R&D, Clinical, Regulatory, and IP, driving the identification, characterization, and development of probiotic bacteria for health benefits. He also holds an adjunct Senior Lecturer position at the University of Otago's Department of Microbiology and Immunology, and serves as a Director on the Boards of the IPA and NZBIOTECH.
