Südpack Verpackungen GmbH & Co. KG recently added digital printing to its gravure and flexographic services to complete its “printing family.” The expanded portfolio offers a number of key benefits. Südpack customers can take advantage of the film manufacturers’ combined expertise in all three printing processes. Digital printing can now be used to personalize packaging with text or images, in outstanding print quality with extremely fast delivery times.
The experts at Südpack will soon be printing films on an HP Indigo 20000 digital press. A variety of film surfaces can be printed with texts, images or barcodes up to an image size of 736 x 1100 mm. From full-surface images, to fine lines and fonts, the new process delivers clear color gradients, brilliant colors and razor sharp outlines. The special colors used for printing have been pre-tested by independent institutes and are 100% compliant with food safety regulations.
Low cost risk, new market opportunities
The new digital printing process will enable Südpack to produce small batch sizes and short print runs with maximum efficiency. Customers can add special advertising or promotions to their standard packaging or mark limited-edition products with a printed image. The low cost risk of digitally printed packaging makes it possible to test new sales concepts or offer new products in regional test markets.
