Tanner previously served as vice president of finance at HelloFresh, where she played a key role in driving UK strategy and profitability while building a strong finance team. She has also held senior roles at Ocado, overseeing significant business changes during the creation of Ocado Retail Ltd, and at Burton’s Biscuits, where she managed £300 million (US$380.7 million) in revenue and an £18 million (US$22.9 million) investment portfolio.
At KatKin, Tanner will oversee the finance team, expand the finance function and act as a central connection between key business segments.
“A CFO is more than just about the numbers,” Tanner, who is a cat parent herself to Pebbles and Poppy, said. “It's about being a confidante, a challenger, a doer, an inspirer, a visionary, and a guardian. All qualities I hope to bring and work on for the future. At KatKin, I’m working with inspiring, passionate people with a genuine desire to change our cats’ health and drive the new fresh category for cats – and Pebbles and Poppy love it. I couldn't have wished for a better company to join the journey as CFO.”
KatKin co-CEO Ed Westcott welcomed Tanner’s appointment, emphasizing her role in the company’s growth. “Her skills and experience will be instrumental in the next stage of KatKin’s growth, and we look forward to working with her closely to help lead our team into our next era,” Westcott said.
In November, KatKin doubled its research team by adding four senior experts formerly from U.S.-based Nom Nom. The company stated this expansion reinforces its position as a leader in fresh cat food, aiming to set new industry standards and improve feline health through science-backed nutrition.
KatKin, founded in 2020 by siblings Brett and Nikki O’Farrell, is a UK-based fresh cat food company focused on delivering high-quality nutrition for cats. The company has provided over 70 million fresh meals to more than 200,000 cats across the UK and has raised £32 million (US$45 million) in funding from investors including V3 Ventures, Perwyn, Active Partners, and Octopus. KatKin offers seven recipes made with 100% human-quality meat, gently cooked to preserve nutrients and frozen for freshness, alongside a range of cat litter and treats.
