JODL Verpackungen expands flexible packaging capacity

The Austrian packaging supplier purchased equipment from German competitor Flexiprime GmbH, adding roll cutters and bag machines to its production line.

JODL Verpackungen GmbH, based in Lenzing, Austria, has acquired machinery from Flexiprime GmbH in Rinteln, Germany, increasing its production volume for flexible packaging used in the food, pet food and dietary supplement industries.

The new equipment includes roll cutters and bag machines for paper block bottom bags. According to the company, the machinery will be integrated into existing production processes at the Lenzing facility.

"This acquisition is a milestone in our growth strategy," said Jürgen Jodl, managing director of JODL Verpackungen GmbH. "We are not only investing in production machinery, but above all in quality, safety and flexibility for our customers. In a dynamic market environment, we are now even better positioned to deliver tailor-made solutions in flexographic or gravure quality in a time-optimized manner – Made in Austria."

The company said customers can expect shorter turnaround times and an expanded product range as a result of the added capacity.

JODL Verpackungen GmbH employs approximately 200 people and produces stand-up pouches, flat-bottom bags, block bottom bags, cross bottom bags and side gusseted bags. The family-run company said it maintains a focus on sustainable mono-material solutions.
