Get Joy, a freeze-dried raw dog food manufacturer, has expanded its partnership with Dan Buettner, founder of Blue Zones and longevity researcher. Buettner will serve as a Get Joy ambassador and wellness advisory board member.
The partnership builds on "Aging on Paws: 10 Keys to Dog Longevity," a docuseries created by Get Joy and Buettner that examines canine lifespan extension through nutrition, movement and purpose. The series received a 2025 Telly Award.
In his expanded role, Buettner will examine connections between human and canine habits that affect longevity and explore how dog ownership influences human health outcomes.
"Studies show that dog owners live longer, healthier lives," said Buettner, who wrote Live to 100: Secrets of the Blue Zones. "With Get Joy, we're now returning the favor to dogs through pet-parent education on nutrition, movement, and connection. Longevity isn't just a human pursuit. It's a shared journey between dogs and the people who love them."
According to Tom Arrix, founder and CEO of Get Joy, Buettner changed how the world thinks about human longevity. "Together, we're now showing that the same simple, proven principles -- whole foods, movement, and connection -- can help our dogs live longer, healthier lives," he noted. "Having him on our Wellness Advisory Board is a tremendous honor and a powerful step forward in our mission."
Get Joy specializes in freeze-dried raw and whole-food dog nutrition products. Buettner is a New York Times bestselling author known for his research on longevity in human populations.
