TEEF for Life, a prebiotic pet dental brand and subsidiary of Primal Health, introduced its TEEF TREETS dental treats for dogs and cats during SuperZoo 2024 in Las Vegas.
According to the company, 80% of pets show signs of dental issues and disease by age three, and depending on the severity, these diseases can reduce a pet’s natural lifespan by up to a third. Many pet dental treats disregard the importance of maintaining the animal’s oral microbiome, which is essential to overall pet health, the company said.
TEEF TREETS are an all-in-one protein-packed treat featuring the company’s formulations — Protektin42 for dogs and Protektin30 for cats. Developed and created by Emily Stein, Ph.D., TEEF's Protektin formulations are powered by proprietary prebiotic technology called Selective Microbial Metabolism Regulation Technology (SMMRT). SMMRT uses 100% safe, natural nutrients to put oral bacteria on a Keto diet, improving breath and oral health. These formulations are part of the brand’s dental powder products and are now embedded into freeze-dried salmon or duck treats.
“We’re incredibly excited to be revealing our newest dental innovation at SuperZoo this year,” said Lindsey Campbell, cofounder and chief commercial officer (CCO) of TEEF. “This trade show draws some of the most influential people and pet industry businesses from all over the world. It’s exciting to be included among other incredible innovations that will improve pet wellness and quality of life."
