
The Global Alliance of Pet Food Associations (GAPFA) has approved Kerry as its first affiliate member following the introduction of a new membership category designed to engage organizations providing ingredients and services to the pet food sector.
GAPFA said the affiliate membership category allows companies supporting the pet food industry to participate in GAPFA activities while maintaining the Alliance's non-commercial focus. Affiliate members do not hold voting rights or board representation.
Kerry supplies ingredients to the pet food industry including products for health support, food protection and preservation, flavor and aroma, and process efficiency solutions.
"Thank you very much for your warm welcoming of Kerry as an Affiliate Member to GAPFA," said David Corley, Global Director, Regulatory Affairs at Kerry. "We look forward to contributing to GAPFA and its trade-facilitating, science-based international standards."
GAPFA represents more than 90% of global prepared pet food production through its member associations. The Alliance develops global standards, engages with regulators and stakeholders, and promotes science-based information across international markets.
