Purina and GoFundMe team up to build, improve dog parks

The Purina Beneful Dream Dog Park Project will provide a mix of financial support, hands-on volunteerism and other resources. Beneful is collaborating with crowdfunding site GoFundMe to raise funds for and awareness of dog parks.

ADM invests in new pet food facility

Archer Daniels Midland Co. has opened a new, high-tech feed facility in Glencoe, Minnesota, USA. The company also said it will invest to expand and modernize its pet food and specialty livestock feed operations in Effingham, Illinois, USA.

Pet food accounts for 69% of Germany’s total pet care market, at 3.1 billion Euros (US$3.46 billion) in sales in 2015, representing 2.9% growth.

Twenty wind turbines in the Scottish Highlands now provide more than enough electricity to power all 12 Mars, Inc. offices and pet food factories in the United Kingdom. Mars formed a partnership with Eneco UK to build the 60 megawatt (MW) wind farm using 70-meter-tall turbines near the villages of Moy and Tomatin, Scotland.

The 34th Interzoo, an international pet industry trade fair, was the largest in its history. Approximately 39,000 trade visitors from more than 90 countries attended the event.
