Alphia announces new COO

John Bear will oversee operational strategies.

Alphia, North America's largest pet food co-manufacturer, has announced the appointment of John Bear as the company's new chief operating officer (COO), effective immediately. With this appointment, Bear will oversee the day-to-day operations of Alphia, focusing on operational strategies, efficiency improvements, crisis management and more to help the company achieve its business objectives.

David McLain, Alphia's chief executive officer and president, expressed his enthusiasm for the new addition, stating, "We are happy to welcome John to the leadership team as we continue to ensure that Alphia remains a leader in the industry for high-quality pet food manufacturing. John's extensive experience in the pet food industry will be invaluable as we adapt our strategies and optimize our operations."

Bear brings over three decades of experience in pet care manufacturing from his previous leadership roles at Nestlé Purina. His career includes significant expertise in factory operations, supply chain management, IT, quality assurance and manufacturing leadership across North and South America. Before joining Alphia, Bear served as the chief technical officer at Nestlé Purina.

In his new role at Alphia, Bear will report directly to CEO David McLain, working closely to streamline business development goals, foster a culture of community and maintain high standards for product quality.
