IFEEDER releases 2024 annual update

Report highlights efforts in sustainability, research and education within the animal feed and pet food industry.

The Institute for Feed Education and Research (IFEEDER) has released its 2024 annual update, highlighting significant strides in sustainability, research and education within the animal feed and pet food industry. IFEEDER's initiatives focus on fostering a sustainable supply chain by collaborating with industry partners and stakeholders.

Key actions from the past year include:

  • Launch of new sustainability tools to support the industry
  • Research on feed and pet food ingredient consumption aimed at enhancing sustainability
  • Improvement of life cycle assessments for feed ingredients
  • Advancements in swine nutrition requirements based on industry feedback
  • Participation in public-private partnerships targeting methane mitigation in livestock

In addition to research, IFEEDER supports industry education through scholarships, raising over $42,000 in collaboration with the American Feed Industry Association’s Equipment Manufacturers Committee. The report also highlights the organization's outreach efforts, such as participating in industry podcasts and launching a new website, blog and newsletter.

All donations to IFEEDER are used to support research, education and sustainability initiatives.
