A former employee has sued Integrated Proteins and CEO Joe Hubbard, alleging sexual harassment, retaliation and wrongful termination at the Kansas City, Missouri-based pet food company.

The lawsuit, filed July 21 in Platte County, Missouri, details incidents from September 2023 through the plaintiff's July 14, 2025, termination. Key allegations include unwanted physical contact during company events, inappropriate text messages and escalating harassment despite internal complaints.

The plaintiff reported the conduct to the HR VP in March 2024, requesting confidentiality. However, the lawsuit claims the HR VP disclosed details to Hubbard, triggering retaliatory job performance criticism. The plaintiff also alleges Hubbard's administrative assistant, who had similar complaints about Hubbard, was terminated shortly after the HR report.

The plaintiff has requested a jury trial in Platte County Circuit Court. No criminal charges have been filed.

Petfood Industry reached out for comment from Joe Hubbard and Integrated Proteins regarding the lawsuit but did not receive a response.
