Italian chef Valerio Braschi, a Michelin Guide-recognized restaurateur and MasterChef Italy champion, has joined premium pet food brand Nulo as its first chef partner in Italy.
Nulo announced the partnership with Braschi, who shares his home with seven cats, as part of the brand's "Fuel Incredible" ambassador program. A short film featuring Braschi and two of his cats, Somy and Carla, accompanies the collaboration.
Braschi won the sixth season of MasterChef Italy in 2017. He subsequently worked as an ambassador of Italian cuisine in New Delhi before becoming executive chef at Ristorante 1978 in Rome. His Milan restaurant, The View — which overlooks Piazza del Duomo — was included in the Michelin Guide in October 2025.
"In the kitchen, I'm always looking for ways to combine elements that work together: different textures, different flavors, something surprising but still meaningful on the plate," Braschi said. "I do the same for my cats. Every day, I mix and match products from the Nulo range, creating combinations that meet their individual nutritional needs.
"For me, eating the same thing every day would be uninspiring and nutritionally limiting," he said. "I don't see why it should be any different for a cat. With Nulo, I know exactly what I'm working with: real proteins, authentic ingredients, real quality. It's the same standard I apply to everything I cook."
Nulo's "Fuel Incredible" program also includes Italian Alpine skiing champion and five-time Olympic gold medalist Christof Innerhofer and chefs Richard Blais and Katie Lee Biegel.
