Process equipment manufacturer Gericke USA has launched a Women in Engineering Group for its female engineering staff worldwide.
Founded by Gericke USA sales engineer Ta'Shanda Rayne, the group connects 17 project engineers, sales engineers and technical support staff across the company's facilities in Europe, Asia, North America and South America. The internal organization focuses on mentorship, continuing education and professional development.
The group presents educational webinars and online events covering topics including navigating regional cultural differences and enhancing soft skills for customer experience.
"Women are bringing fresh perspectives and innate capabilities to a field that, historically, hasn't had very much female representation," says Rayne. "We're working to address the changing dynamics in the workplace and I'm grateful to our leadership team for their strong support in demonstrating a company-wide commitment to diversity."
The network aims to attract and retain skilled engineers, promote customer engagement and support project execution.
