IQI Trusted Petfood Ingredients has appointed Mike Turnbull as sales manager for Canada and the U.S. Turnbull brings more than a decade of experience managing strategic pet food accounts in Canada to the Netherlands-based ingredient company.
Turnbull's background spans business development and sales, with expertise in strategic account leadership, forecasting, trade spend management and building long-term customer partnerships. Most recently, he served as senior manager of national strategic accounts at Petcurean Pet Nutrition, where he drove growth with pet retailers and distributors. Prior to that, he held a role at Hill's Pet Nutrition managing pet retail accounts and national business planning.
Brooke Eiler, sales manager North America at IQI, said Turnbull's market knowledge will benefit customers on both sides of the border. "Mike comes to IQI with extensive experience in pet food and deep knowledge about the Canadian market," Eiler said. "In his role, he will support customers across Canada and the U.S. in a new way — helping shape formulations and deliver label claims through IQI's portfolio of unique, high-quality ingredients."
Turnbull said the move represents a shift from the manufacturing side of the industry to ingredients. "I've always been passionate about animals and have spent over a decade in the pet food industry on the manufacturing side, working closely with some of Canada's largest retailers," he said.
"I'm excited to bring that experience to the ingredient side of the business, aligning sales, marketing, and operations around shared customer objectives and long-term growth. I look forward to bringing the goals and needs of our customers to life and working with other passionate individuals in a new area of the industry."
