The Global Alliance of Pet Food Associations (GAPFA) has approved Symrise Pet Food as an affiliate member following a vote by the GAPFA General Assembly.
GAPFA's affiliate membership category was established to engage organizations that provide expertise, ingredients and services supporting the pet food sector. Symrise Pet Food works with pet food manufacturers on palatability, nutrition, and product protection.
GAPFA said it represents more than 90% of global prepared pet food production through its member associations and works to advance pet food safety, nutrition, sustainability and trade worldwide. The alliance supports the development of global standards, engages with regulators and stakeholders, and promotes science-based information across international markets.
"Welcoming Symrise Pet Food as an affiliate member further strengthens the expertise within GAPFA's global community," said Loretta Hunter, president of GAPFA. "Their knowledge and innovation will support our collective efforts to advance GAPFA's vision to improve the health and wellbeing of pets globally through access to safe, nutritious and sustainable pet food."
Lilette Robles Félicité, global regulatory affairs manager, pet food taste, nutrition and health at Symrise Pet Food, said the company looks forward to collaborating with industry partners worldwide.
"Through our expertise in palatability, nutrition and pet food protection, we are committed to supporting safe, nutritious and sustainable pet food solutions that contribute to pet wellbeing globally," said Félicité.
