Celebrating those who shape the egg sector's future

The modern egg sector that many of us know today has been shaped by many individuals. Fostering such talent must not be forgotten if egg production is to continue moving forward.

In many countries, buying fresh eggs is as easy as turning the tap for fresh, clean water or getting light at the flick of a switch. This, however, has not always been the case and, in some countries, is still not.

The recent passing of Joe Hudson, the founder of Burnbrae Farms in Canada, at the age of 94, should remind us that the egg sector has been shaped by the vision of a few entrepreneurs. They moved the sector from being seasonal and inefficient to one that is well-organized and provides consumers with a wide range of shell egg and egg product choices.
