FreezeM, a leader in Black Soldier Fly (BSF) breeding technology, has partnered with Agroloop Hungary to unveil what they say is the world’s first fully decoupled BSF farming facility, a transformative step in insect farming. Unlike traditional vertically integrated BSF production — which combines breeding and processing in-house—this model outsources breeding to improve efficiency, reduce costs and enhance scalability.

FreezeM will supply Agroloop with its innovative PauseM units, pre-counted BSF neonates suspended in their life cycle, from its breeding hub in Germany. "By decoupling breeding from production with PauseM, we're offering a solution that overcomes the major bottlenecks of the traditional approach," said Yuval Gilad, CEO of FreezeM. These units allow Agroloop to focus on its core mission of converting organic waste streams into high-quality protein, oil and fertilizer at scale.

The partnership also introduced an Automated PauseM Deployment System, enabling Agroloop to deploy up to 200 million BSF neonates daily with minimal manual intervention, enhancing production volume and efficiency. "After extensive research, choosing PauseM as our outsourced breeding solution brings our vision to life," said Rajmond Percze, CEO of Agroloop.

According to the Agroloop, this collaboration marks a paradigm shift for the insect farming industry, setting new standards for sustainable and scalable BSF production.
