Hill’s Pet Nutrition has announced changes to its veterinary leadership in two key regions. Dr. Karen Shenoy, currently the US chief veterinary officer, will transition into the role of vice president and chief veterinarian for Europe, the Middle East, and Africa (EMEA), following the retirement of Dr. Hein Meyer in June. Dr. Chelsie Estey will succeed Shenoy as chief veterinary Officer for Hill’s US.
Dr. Karen Shenoy moves to EMEA leadership role
Dr. Shenoy, who has served as US chief veterinary officer since 2022, will take on her new role in April 2025. She will oversee veterinary engagement and professional affairs in the EMEA region while working to strengthen partnerships between Hill’s and the veterinary community.
“Dr. Shenoy brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to the position and will play a critical role on the EMEA leadership team, setting the vision for veterinary engagement and leading the professional and veterinary affairs team,” said Gerald Mastio, president and general manager of Hill’s EMEA. “She has played an instrumental role in sharing Hill’s scientific advancements and supporting the profession in the US through inclusion, education and advocacy."
Dr. Shenoy, who joined Hill’s in 2008, has held various leadership positions, including field sales and engagement director, associate director of Veterinary Affairs, and senior manager of Academic Affairs. She holds a doctor of veterinary medicine degree from the University of Minnesota and is actively involved in the Women in Leadership and Management in Animal Health (WILMAH) organization.
"I'm honored to become vice president and chief veterinarian for Hill’s EMEA," said Shenoy. "This role fuels my passion for helping veterinary professionals do their very best in meeting their clients’ and patients’ needs through the power of nutrition."
Dr. Chelsie Estey named chief veterinary officer for Hill’s US
Dr. Estey will assume her new role in April 2025, bringing experience in veterinary medicine, leadership, and business strategy. She most recently served as vice president of US Pet Care at Parnell and previously held leadership roles at Elanco and in private veterinary practice.
“We are excited to welcome Dr. Estey as our new chief veterinary officer for Hill’s US,” said Yvonne Hsu, president and general manager of Hill’s US. “Dr. Estey brings a dynamic blend of experience, leadership and vision, crucial in driving our strategic goals and elevating our veterinary advocacy to new heights."
Dr. Estey, a veterinary neurologist, has contributed to the field through scientific publications and book chapters. She holds a doctor of veterinary medicine degree from the Atlantic Veterinary College and completed a neurology and neurosurgery residency at Cornell University. She also has a master of science degree from the University of Ottawa and a bachelor of science degree from the University of New Brunswick.
“I am incredibly excited to join Hill’s US,” Estey said. “Hill’s is known for its commitment to veterinary professionals and leadership in scientific innovation. I look forward to working with the veterinary community to enhance pet health and wellbeing.”
