Pet Fair Asia has announced the launch of EcoPaws Asia, a sustainability program debuting at Pet Fair Asia 2026, scheduled for Aug. 19-23 at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre.
The program is supported by a formal agreement with the Pet Sustainability Coalition (PSC) and aligned with the organization's standards and guidance.
EcoPaws Asia is designed to recognize and promote sustainability efforts within the Asian pet industry. The program will provide visibility and visitor guidance for exhibiting brands whose products align with sustainable development objectives, with participating companies assessed based on sustainability performance and documented progress.
China has committed to achieving carbon neutrality by 2060 and has increased its focus on green development and ESG regulation, encouraging industries to adopt cleaner production methods, improve resource efficiency and strengthen environmental compliance across supply chains. Within the pet industry, that shift has spurred development in areas including biodegradable materials, recyclable packaging, energy-efficient manufacturing and responsible sourcing.
Program activities
At Pet Fair Asia 2026, booths of selected companies will be designated "Must-Visit," directing attendees toward those exhibitors. A dedicated EcoPaws Asia Showcase Area will feature a curated selection of environmentally responsible products. The program will also include business matchmaking between buyers seeking sustainable solutions and manufacturers, an awards ceremony recognizing achievements across multiple categories, and onsite forums focused on sustainability topics.

The program aims to encourage companies to adopt measurable, transparent and science-based approaches to environmental and social responsibility, according to Pet Fair Asia.
