Humane Society University , part of The Humane Society of the United States , offers online training and skills enhancement courses for pet industry professionals, business owners and pet service providers.
According to the society , the courses can be taken at an individual pace and are offered on an ongoing basis.
Current course offerings include:
- Guide to Interviewing (Free) - This course explores employee interviewing best practices and is the first lesson of a longer online course called Guide to Effective Staff Selection.
- Guide to Effective Staff Selection ($25) - This self-paced course examines employee recruitment and staff selection best practices, including topics such as analyzing resumes, conducting legally defensible interviews and identifying job competencies.
- Interpreting Animal Behavior for Safe Handling ($35) - This course examines cat and dog body signals. Students will become familiar with a variety of visual, auditory, and olfactory systems used by animals in communication.
