Hesco Inc. earned a Certification Grade of “A” at their Hastings, Nebraska, USA, facility during their recent third-party British Retail Consortium audit recognized by the Global Food Safety Initiative.
Under the GFSI scheme, food producers and manufacturers are benchmarked against food safety requirements by independent licensed auditors. An “A” is the highest grade possible on the audit, which includes a comprehensive inspection of the facility’s food safety production program, HACCP program and management systems.
Hesco also received an “A” grade on the first BRC audit of their Watertown, South Dakota, USA, facility last November. “We believe it’s a significant accomplishment to achieve an 'A' rating during our first BRC audits at both facilities,” said Jammie Hennrich, Hesco CEO. This also positions Hesco to meet the requirements of the recently enacted Food and Drug Administration Food Safety Modernization Act.
