Ballard Manufacturing received an Excellent (100%) rating on the SQF Facility Audit Ed. 7.2 Lv.2: Accredited HACCP Based Food Safety Plans. This audit was conducted on January 26-27, 2016.
The SQF Code is a process and product certification standard. It is a Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (HACCP)-based food safety and quality management system that utilizes the National Advisory Committee on Microbiological Criteria for Food (NACMCF) and the CODEX Alimentarius Commission HACCP principles and guidelines, and is intended to support industry or company branded product and to offer benefits to suppliers and their customers.
Products produced and manufactured under the SQF Code certification retain a high degree of acceptance in global markets. The main feature of the SQF Code is its emphasis on the systematic application of HACCP for control of food quality hazards as well as food safety. The implementation of an SQF management system addresses a buyer’s food safety and quality requirements and provides the solution for businesses supplying local and global food markets.
The SQF (Safe Quality Foods) certification has provided a platform to focus all Ballard team members on food safety and quality. It has also led to process improvements throughout our operations. Ballard is a leading developer and manufacturer of consistently high-quality pet products.
