Projecting the Hispanic homeowner role in dog population growth

A recent report from the Harvard University Joint Center for Housing Studies (JCHS, August 25, 2025) projects “a decade of slowing household growth ahead for both owners and renters.”

Between 2025 and 2035, in its baseline projections, JCHS estimates that the total number of U.S. households will grow from 134,236,000 to 142,827,000, for a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 0.62%. For historical perspective, that’s down from a CAGR of 0.75% for the 10-year 2015-2025 period, and from a CAGR of 1.0% for the 25-year 2000–2025 period.
