2024 sees small decline in poultry imports, exports rise

Trade in 2024 was affected by oversupply of poultry meat in some countries and avian influenza outbreaks.

Global poultry meat trade is expected to reach over 13.8 million metric tons (MT) in exports and decline to approximately 11 million MT in imports in 2024, according to data from the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) (Figure 1).
