Royal Canin, a subsidiary of Mars Inc., has named Scott Adams as site leader for the Royal Canin Pet Health Nutrition Center (PHNC) in Lewisburg, Ohio.

Adams brings more than 30 years of relevant experience into this role. Prior to this leadership position, he held various roles in increasing responsibility at the PHNC site in microbiology, project management, animal care management, and capability development. As the site integrated into Royal Canin in 2015, Adams remains committed to celebrating PHNC's 10-year anniversary with the brand this spring.

Adams aims to bring a balance of both science and data, as well as people and culture to this role, he said.  “Almost every presentation I’ve given in the past 10 years, I always end it with a picture of our site that says ‘Incredible starts here,’” Adams said. “That’s how we all feel here.”

The PHNC focuses on various key priorities for the business, such as novel proteins, new ingredients, skin and coat, and digestibility. These projects enable increased nutritional precision and the continued development of products tailored to individual pet needs and health conditions. The PHNC is one of two Royal Canin pet centers globally for the business and the only U.S.-based location. Currently, the site employs 56 Associates in the Lewisburg area.

Adams holds a bachelor of science degree in microbiology from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio.
