Alphia has acquired the manufacturing operations of a newly-constructed pet food facility in Pittsburg, Texas, U.S.
“This acquisition represents an important milestone for Alphia as we continue to execute our long-term growth plan,” said David McLain, CEO of Alphia. “We are excited to integrate this facility into our network and leverage its efficient design and strategic location to provide best-in-class solutions to our customers.”
The experienced existing manufacturing workforce at the Pittsburg facility will become Alphia employees, ensuring continuity in operations. Alphia said it has a growth plan to add additional employees at the site and make capital investments to increase production capacity and expand capabilities, while ensuring its commitment to quality and food safety standards.
According to Petfood Industry's Top Pet Food Companies, Alphia works with pet food brands as a co-manufacturer and retailers looking to develop, revise or expand their pet food brands. Alphia can produce dry dog and cat food, dog treats, canned dog and cat food and pet bird food. It has the capacity to manufacture more than 1 billion pounds of pet food and treats annually.
