Montego Pet Nutrition launches treat lines in the Netherlands

South African pet food manufacturer expands European presence with antelope protein treats and traditional reward snacks targeting Dutch retail market.

Montego Pet Nutrition has introduced two dog treat ranges to the Netherlands market: KAROO Wild, featuring African antelope protein and Bags o' Wags traditional treats.

The KAROO Wild line positions itself in the alternative protein segment with African antelope as the primary protein source. The treats are formulated without grains, gluten or artificial additives, and include ingredients such as whole egg powder and sweet potato. Natural herbs including rosemary, oregano and thyme are incorporated for their antioxidant properties. The company states the antelope meat provides iron, amino acids and B vitamins.

Bags o' Wags offers traditional dog treats in various formats, shapes and flavors for training and rewards. The products are manufactured at Montego's production facility and designed for daily feeding occasions.

Retail pricing ranges from €1.99 (US$2.20) to €13.99 (US$15.50) across both product lines.

"Europe is home to some of the most passionate pet owners in the world, and we are delighted to bring Montego's treats to families in the Netherlands," said Johan van Jaarsveld, managing director. "KAROO Wild and Bags O' Wags are a strong representation of our company ethos - combining innovation, quality, and care in every product. We're excited to introduce our uniquely South African offering to even more pet parents across the world. This is more than an expansion; it's about sharing our passion for pets on a global scale. We look forward to building strong relationships with local partners and, most importantly, to seeing more pets enjoy the wholesome goodness of Montego."
