Mars Petcare names Marc Carena global president

Carena transitions from leading Mars Snacking across Europe and Central Eurasia to helm the company's US$30 billion pet care division.

Mars, Inc. named Marc Carena to the role of global president, Mars Petcare, effective January 2026. Carena previously served as regional president Mars Snacking Europe, Central Eurasia & International Travel Retail.

Mars LogoAccording to the company, Carena joined Mars in 2022 and has delivered results across 55 markets in his snacking role. Prior to Mars, he served as managing director for McDonald's in Russia, leading more than 60,000 employees. He also has experience in retail and FMCG from roles at Metro Group and Nestlé and is vice president of the European Food and Drink Association, which represents the interests of FMCG companies in Europe.

Carena replaces Loïc Moutault, who spent more than 30 years with Mars across multiple functions, business segments and countries. Moutault helped develop the Mars Petcare business as it exists today spanning nutrition and care.

According to Petfood Industry's Top Pet Food Companies, Mars Petcare operates in more than 130 countries with over 100,000 associates. The company's portfolio includes veterinary care brands AniCura, Banfield, BluePearl, Linnaeus and VCA; pet nutrition brands Pedigree, Royal Canin and Whiskas; and veterinary diagnostics company Antech.
