Pet Honesty has launched Brush Buddies, a chewable daily dental treat formulated without cellulose and designed to extend chew time compared to traditional dental chews.

The company developed the product in response to low rates of daily toothbrushing among dog owners, noting that more than 80% of dogs over age two show signs of poor dental health. Brush Buddies addresses four areas veterinarians commonly assess — plaque, tartar, gum health and breath — using a patent-pending shape and texture the company says lasts up to two times longer than conventional dental chews.

The formulation relies on a proprietary blend of clinically studied postbiotics alongside natural ingredients including kelp, parsley, and mint. Pet Honesty says the treat works on two levels: mechanical cleaning through texture and functional ingredient support for fresh breath, gum health, and a balanced oral microbiome. The product contains no artificial additives.

"Dental disease is incredibly common, but daily brushing isn't realistic for most families," said Greg Reinhart, Ph.D., chief scientific officer at Pet Honesty. "With Brush Buddies, we created a chew that lasts longer, cleans more effectively, and delivers functional ingredients dogs benefit from — without turning dental care into a chore."
