Petfood Forum 2025 will once again serve as a central hub for the global pet food industry, and this year’s event will feature a broader lineup of co-located conferences and workshops designed to provide attendees with expanded educational and networking opportunities.

Organized by WATT Global Media, Petfood Forum will take place April 28–30 at the Kansas City Convention Center in Kansas City, Missouri. The event will be joined by several complementary gatherings, including the Pet Food Alliance annual meeting, the AAFCO Pet Food Labeling Workshop, and the Pet Food Ingredient Buyers Mission organized by the Kansas Department of Agriculture in partnership with Food Export Midwest.

“As pet food professionals from around the world gather together in Kansas City for Petfood Forum, it’s a natural extension for organizations to participate by providing more opportunities for education and networking,” said Steve Akins, executive vice president of global petfood and events at WATT Global Media.

Pet Food Alliance Annual Meeting

Held April 30–May 1, the Pet Food Alliance (PFA) annual meeting will welcome stakeholders from the rendering, pet food and academic sectors. Hosted by the Fats & Proteins Research Foundation, the meeting will focus on research updates and regulatory developments relevant to the pet food and rendering industries.

“Members gain both the opportunity to exchange ideas and gather insights at their committee meeting, while also being able to register to attend Petfood Forum to add more value to their trip during what is becoming known as ‘Petfood Forum week,’” Akins noted.

Pet Food Ingredient Buyers Mission

On April 28, the Kansas Department of Agriculture and Food Export-Midwest will host a Pet Food Ingredient Buyers Mission, an exclusive matchmaking program that connects global ingredient buyers with U.S. suppliers. The event offers participants direct access to new business opportunities and market insights.

“The Buyers Mission provides a unique opportunity for ingredient supplier companies to build relationships and drive sales with ingredient buyers world-wide,” said Akins. “The program also provides exclusive insights into demand and market-specific growth opportunities.”

AAFCO Labeling Seminar

Also on April 28, the American Association of Feed Control Officials (AAFCO) will present a full-day Pet Food Labeling Workshop. Led by regulatory and industry experts, the session will address current labeling regulations, common misconceptions, claims and updates on ingredient definitions.

“These co-located events are a win-win for everyone and provide convenient options for gaining additional knowledge on all facets of the pet food industry,” said Akins.
