Interzoo notes early registration numbers indicate strong global participation in the biennial event, which serves as the primary business-to-business gathering for the international pet industry.

More than 1,000 companies from 53 countries have registered for Interzoo 2026, approximately 10 months before the international pet supplies trade fair opens in Nuremberg, Germany. The early registration numbers indicate strong global participation in the biennial event, which serves as the primary business-to-business gathering for the international pet industry.

The event said registration figures represent significant growth from several key markets. Spain, the U.S., and Italy have shown particularly strong increases in participation, while registrations from Poland, Hungary and Turkey have already surpassed the number of companies from these countries that participated in the 2024 event.

"We are delighted by the particularly early and exceptionally high demand for places at what is the most international fair in the sector," said Norbert Holthenrich, president of the German Pet Trade & Industry Association (ZZF), the institutional sponsor of Interzoo. "By participating in Interzoo, companies are investing in their visibility, their sales and their strategic growth. This is vital in a dynamically evolving global pet supplies market. For many in the sector, Interzoo is the most important B2B gathering and consequently, the highlight of the 2026 calendar."

The 2024 Interzoo hosted approximately 2,150 exhibitors from 68 countries. For the 2026 event, organizers have planned 15 exhibition halls at the Nuremberg Exhibition Centre to accommodate the expected participation levels.

"The massive response from the pet supplies industry shows that companies have an undeniable need to meet one another in person at Interzoo, present products to customers directly, and build international networks," said Dr Rowena Arzt, director exhibitions at WZF (Wirtschaftsgemeinschaft Zoologischer Fachbetriebe GmbH). "Alongside established exhibitors, numerous new exhibitors from all around the world have registered for 2026. With a view to the coming event in May 2026, three factors are already underlining Interzoo's diversity and leading role: the strong international presence, the varied nature of the manufacturers from the sector already registered, and of course, the incomparable range of products on display."

National pavilions expand for 2026

Sixteen national pavilions have been confirmed for Interzoo 2026, including new additions such as the Turkish pavilion. The national pavilions provide international exhibitors with turnkey participation options and specialized services for companies participating in the trade fair.

"To date, 16 national pavilions have been planned," said Dr. Arzt. "These pavilions provide the opportunity for international exhibitors to take part in the world-leading fair as part of a national pavilion including turnkey concepts and special services."

Supporting programs target industry professionals

Interzoo 2026 will feature several supporting programs designed for industry professionals. The event will include the "Fresh Ideas" stage for start-ups and innovative products, mini conferences focused on specific markets and regions, and networking events.

A pre-show program has been added for 2026: Petfood Forum Europe, organized by WATT Global Media, will take place at Exhibition Centre Nuremberg on May 11, 2026, marking the third time the petfood-focused conference will be held in conjunction with Interzoo.

Interzoo 2026 is scheduled for May 12-15, 2026, at the Nuremberg Exhibition Centre in Germany. The event is held every two years and serves as the primary international trade fair for pet products and supplies.
