SOMIC Packaging, Inc. will feature a new machine and two digital tools making their North American debuts in booth N-4740 at PACK EXPO International 2026, set for Oct. 18-21 at McCormick Place in Chicago.
The company, whose North American headquarters is based in Minnesota, will display its SOMIC 434 machine and the new SOMIC 202, as well as SOMIC Eagle and SOMIC Connect. The 202 and the two digital services were introduced to a worldwide audience six months ago at Interpack.
The SOMIC 434 platform was introduced at PACK EXPO International in Chicago two years ago. It runs up to 32 cycles per minute and can produce multiple carton formats. The machine can be built as a case packer, tray packer or wraparound packer, or as a multi-function machine capable of producing all three carton types with automatic format adjustments.
The SOMIC 202 is designed as a space-saving machine for standard packaging tasks and for brand owners and manufacturers entering automated, shelf-ready packaging. The platform is built to handle regular slotted cartons or flat blanks at up to 20 packs per minute. It will be demonstrated in the booth alongside the 434.
SOMIC Eagle and SOMIC Connect will also be demonstrated. The tools combine machine-sequence video with diagnostic data for customers and technicians to use in troubleshooting and identifying what triggered a machine fault.
SOMIC Eagle uses a multi-camera issue-tracking system to record and time-stamp video clips of machine faults. SOMIC Connect shares that data, including programmable logic controller and human-machine interface logs and error information, through a secure email server.
