The cat Renaissance continues, as global economic forces fuel growth in cat ownership even as dog ownership gains soften. Among cat owners, the same demands are popping up as in the dog space: premium nutrition, functional ingredients and an overall focus on their animal’s health and wellness.

“The cat category is experiencing sustained growth, driven by increasing cat ownership and a shift in how consumers approach feline nutrition and care,” said Rob Cadenhead, general manager at Gott Pet Products (parent company of Charlee Bear). “Cats are now being treated with the same level of intentionality as dogs, with pet parents seeking products that support overall health, longevity and daily enrichment. From a business perspective, this creates a compelling opportunity. The category still offers room for innovation, particularly in treats and toppers, where functionality, format and ingredient quality are evolving quickly.”
