Purina Pro Plan has launched a video series featuring sports broadcaster Kirk Herbstreit interviewing professional athletes about their relationships with their dogs and feeding practices. The "Fueled By" series includes NFL tight end George Kittle and professional soccer players Rose Lavelle and Sophia Wilson.

The content series debuts July 21 with Herbstreit's introductory video on YouTube.com/ProPlan, followed by weekly releases featuring each athlete through August 12.

"As a dog parent to four dogs myself, including a new puppy, I understand the powerful bond between athletes and their dogs," said Herbstreit. "I know how important nutrition is in fueling our lives together. I'm thrilled to host 'Fueled By' and give viewers a look at the exceptional lives these athletes lead with their dogs at home."

The featured athletes discuss their dogs' varying nutritional requirements and feeding routines. Kittle owns a Bernadoodle named Deenie and a rescue dog named Hobbes, while Lavelle feeds her senior dog Wilma Jean Pro Plan Bright Mind. Wilson recently acquired a dachshund puppy named Frankie.

"My dogs are an essential part of my life, both during the season and in the off-season," said Kittle. "From my Bernadoodle Deenie to my rescue pup Hobbes, each has different energy levels and nutritional needs, but they both play a crucial role in keeping me grounded and bringing joy to my home."

Lavelle, who feeds her senior dog Wilma Jean Pro Plan Bright Mind, added: "The bond between an athlete and their dog creates a support system that enhances performance both on and off the field. Pro Plan helps fuel that exceptional life we share together."

The video release schedule includes Lavelle's segment on July 29, Wilson's on August 5, and Kittle's on August 12.

"As a new puppy parent to my dachshund, Frankie, I'm learning that the foundation of nutrition in the early years sets dogs up for a healthy life," said Wilson. "My puppy's energy matches my own as a professional athlete, and Pro Plan helps fuel that energy in a healthy, sustainable way."

Pro Plan manufactures over 140 formulas targeting different life stages, breed sizes, and dietary requirements. The brand's formulations feature meat, salmon, chicken, or lamb as the primary ingredient.
